I believe we create our life plan on the etheric plane before we come to this earthly plane. The problem is that life is so perfect there, with no pain, loss or suffering there, we sometimes sign up for as many experiences as we can, believing we'll be able to handle it. Some of us struggle with varying outcomes, like dis-ease within our bodies/minds or even suicide.
Each life journey has its own lessons, you don't necessarily come back and repeat that life over and over again until you 'get it right'. After all what is getting it right? Is it learning from the experience, mastering the lesson or ignoring it completely? And if you were to believe you came back until you got it right, surely your life plan would change anyway, because you still learn from some of the lessons no matter what.
Now, just because I say we created a life plan, this doesn't mean it is cast in stone. We create many backup plans, like; 'If I don't realise x is my soulmate, he/she will turn up again at this time', or 'I will meet y and he/she will be my mate instead'. 'If I decide to disbelieve in my spirituality, I will meet someone at ages 15, 26, 40 or 59 who will help me remember.' 'I will meet z and he/she will teach me what kind of relationship I don't want in life, then I will meet w and he/she will show me what unconditional love is'.
This brings me to my next point, we have a soul family who are around us as we live on this earthly plane. If you believe in reincarnation, and I do, then these people will have different relationships with you in different lifetimes. You mother might become your daughter, your best friend could be your enemy, your partner could be your brother or sister, etc..
You are drawn to these people because of this link within your soul family and this explains that 'innate knowing' you have when you meet some people for the first time. As strange as it might sound, everyone you meet is here to teach you something, whether it's love, hate, fear, anger, sadness.... The person you loved in a past life could be here to teach you to show compassion when they make your life miserable this time. Your mother, who was your sister last time may be here to teach you about standing up for yourself.
Just think how hard it is for members of your soul family to be the baddie in one lifetime when they were the love of your life in the last!
This is why I believe our biggest lesson is not to sit in judgement of others, but to accept them as they are, warts and all. It isn't necessary to hate them or change them, just let them 'be' who they are. Don't get me wrong, I still struggle with this myself, but I try my darndest to remember when I am challenged by interaction with others.
If you are interested, a great story to read is 'The Little Soul and the Sun'. If you google it, you should be able to find it. It's not a very long story, but it does shed a different light on things.
I will write more on this in another blog, but in the meantime, if you would like to ask for more clarification, please do. If I know the answer I will tell you. If you have something you would like to add to this, either on the website or through facebook, please do. I encourage your comments, thoughts and opinions.
