When I first moved to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast I was worried I would get lost....so of course I did, countless times.
I was given a GPS (probably because everyone was getting a little tired of my 'anxiety calls'). I thought I was onto a winner here - no more getting lost for me! Ahh, but the truth was a different reality...
My GPS likes to do figure eights on the way to wherever I want to be. It doesn't matter what address I put in, it does a circle on either side of my destination, before I arrive. I tried ignoring it and going a different way, referring to it only as I got closer...but no, there was that figure eight again, just on a smaller scale.
Now I am aware of the significance of the figure eight and it's connection to Eternity, but today I was thinking along a different line.
We each have an internal GPS that can either take us in a direct line or meander and explore as we travel on our life journey.
As we rush about through our busy lives, we race from place to place, doing and more doing, until the day is done. We miss a lot of the beauty and the magic around us, as we try to find the more direct route to where we want to be.
There is so much more to life than we could ever believe. It's important we are open to the extra experiences in our life, the view, the synchronicity and chances that are only visible, if we pause for a while to notice them by living in the 'now'.
As for me, I allow extra time for my GPS to show me around Brisbane on the way to a client's home now. When I get lost, I don't stress like I used to, I admire the scenery, taking time to notice the magic in the world. I am thankful to my GPS who reminded me to slow down and to be 'present'. On the bright side, I even have a better idea of where I'm going now....with or without my GPS.
with love, respect and integrity
